About Consulting LSAT Get in Touch
The approach

Diagnostic first.
Everything else follows.

Most LSAT tutoring starts in the wrong place. Students are given drills before anyone has identified what's actually holding their score back. Hours are spent reinforcing habits rather than replacing them.

My approach starts with a rigorous diagnostic — understanding not just what questions a student gets wrong, but why, and what the pattern of errors reveals about the underlying reasoning habits at play. That diagnosis shapes everything that follows.

My own score of 176 is not a marketing detail. It is the foundation of what I understand about the test that most instructors never reach — the difference between knowing how to solve a problem and knowing why the problem is constructed the way it is. That distinction changes the quality of the instruction.

The LSAT rewards a specific kind of disciplined, analytical thinking. That thinking can be taught. Students who believed they had reached their ceiling have consistently found, with the right instruction, that they had not.

01

Diagnostic & error analysis

A full performance assessment across Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension — identifying not just which questions go wrong, but the cognitive habits behind them.

02

Honest projection

A professional assessment of your realistic score ceiling and the hours likely required to reach it. No inflated targets. No guaranteed outcomes that no one can guarantee.

03

Targeted instruction

Sessions focused on the specific question types and reasoning patterns that are holding your score down — not a general curriculum designed for average students.

04

Mid-point reassessment

Every block includes a formal check-in. If you're tracking ahead, unused hours are released. If more is needed, we discuss it before you run out of time.

The LSAT Diagnostic
& Projection Session

Before committing to a tutoring block, the right first step is understanding where you stand. The diagnostic session is a 90-minute deep-dive into your current performance — what's working, what isn't, and what a realistic improvement path looks like.

I will tell you honestly what I find: your probable score ceiling, the sections most likely to yield improvement, and the hours realistically required to reach your target. If I don't think a tutoring engagement makes sense for your situation, I will say so.

The diagnostic fee is credited in full toward any tutoring block you subsequently purchase.

What students say

Results, in their own words.

From Wyzant  ·  200+ five-star reviews across 11 years of professional instruction

These are unedited accounts from students I have worked with — across different starting points, timelines, and goals.

Score: 178  ·  Above personal best

"As I am writing to you, I am unable to contain my excitement. This morning I got my score back from the July test and my jaw dropped when I saw a 178 on my screen. Considering I had never cracked above 175 in my practice tests I am aware I had some luck on my side, but thinking back to the test, it really was my confidence that no question could truly stump me that carried my performance. I can't begin to thank David enough for helping me build that confidence. When I set out on taking the test again after my underwhelming performance last year, I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a program and teacher that could ensure a higher score with so little room for improvement, but David certainly proved me wrong."

+30 Points  ·  From diagnostic to official score

"If you're looking for a highly skillful mind to help you understand the LSAT better, then you won't go wrong in choosing David. I increased my LSAT score 30 points from my initial diagnostic score with the help from him. David will coach you into developing the skills needed to understand and recognize the patterns the LSAT throws at you."

167 → 170+  ·  8-Week Engagement

"I had less than 8 weeks to work with a tutor and try to get my score up from a 167 to at least a 170. Working with David I learned how to really dissect the exam into different problem types and approach these problems methodically. All the logical reasoning I was doing subconsciously before, he helped me put into words and practice. I also learned a completely new approach to RC that completely changed how I approached RC sections and boosted my score immensely. I was convinced that I had reached my max potential for the exam and David really unlocked a new skillset for me that made the difference. More than worth every penny."

+20 Points  ·  6-Month Engagement

"I worked with David for about 6 months and was able to increase my score 20 points! I'm so thankful for his help and wouldn't have been able to do it without him. He was patient with me, and took the time to make sure I really understood all of the material. He's very intelligent and what I appreciated most was his help in answering any and all my questions. If I didn't understand something, he would reframe his explanation to make sure I got it."

10+ Typical point gain

Students I have worked with regularly improve by double digits — many scored over 170 from starting points in the upper 150s and low 160s, some by 20 to 30 points, and one reached a 178, above their personal best in practice, crediting the confidence and methodology we built together. Students who believed they had reached their ceiling have consistently found, with the right instruction, that they had not.
